The restoration and adaptive reuse project for the Monumental Complex of Villa Ronchi in Crevalcore was conceived to preserve and enhance a site of significant historical and architectural value, severely damaged by the 2012 earthquakes.

Developed in close collaboration with the Heritage Authority, the intervention comprised structural consolidation, the conservative restoration of decorated surfaces and façades, and the functional and systems upgrade of the interior spaces.

The works employed compatible and reversible techniques, ensuring the preservation of historic materials while improving the building’s seismic performance. Particular attention was dedicated to environmental sustainability, with the use of low-impact materials and high-efficiency systems compliant with Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM).

The restored complex—including the main villa, rural outbuildings, and the historic park—has been returned to the community as a cultural and multifunctional hub designed to host events, exhibitions, and social activities. The project contributes to the enhancement of Crevalcore’s architectural heritage and strengthens the cultural identity of the area.
